The year featured a mild and relatively dry winter except for April which was especially wet. There was also a lack of rainfall in summer together with higher than average temperatures. September and October, however, were wet. |

Château Pontet-Canet 1998 - Tasting notes : A deep ruby robe with orangey hints showing the start of a colour change in the bottles. On the nose, the hints of toasted vanilla and fruit are topped by touches of light tobacco. On the palate, the attack is full and mild. The very full middle reveals a delicate tannic structure. Good length on the finish. |
