The 1995 vintage was characterised by early bud burst and outstanding weather conditions: high temperatures, a great deal of sunshine, and rainfall limited to a mere 36mm in June, July and August. The rain that fell at the start of the harvest had no adverse effect whatever on the perfect health of the grapes. The must quickly took on colour, with high levels of alcohol and good acidity, auguring the very high quality of this vintage. |

Château Pontet-Canet 1995 - Tasting notes : Very slightly tile red, heralding the start of a change in colour. The complex, expressive nose reveals hints of fruit and tobacco. The balance of this wine on the palate makes it stand out. Its fine, long, delicious structure is made up of very elegant tannins. After 10 years in the bottle, this vintage still shows all its youthful qualities. |
