2002

2002 featured dry growing conditions with a somewhat mixed summer. Flowering and ripening were late. A hot and dry September, however, created outstanding ripening conditions, especially beneficial for the Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvesting began on 30th September and within a week, 40% of the pickers gathered in the Merlot. Then, on 7th October, harvesting of the Cabernet started, interspersed with the picking of the Petit-Verdot which was gathered at peak ripeness. Harvesting ended on 14th October. As we were confident that the vines were in fine condition, we decided to keep only 50% of the team for the last days of the harvest, so that we could make the most of ripening.
